Each month we profile one of our SMSF audit team members to give you an insight into what makes them tick!
This month we get to meet Shauna Devlin – a Client Service Officer in the SMSF audit team in our Sydney office. She is the first point of contact for many of our clients.
Hello Shauna! What is something exciting you have done in the past 12 months?
Over the Christmas break, I went home to Ireland and Scotland to visit my family. Every trip back home I enjoy, however getting to spend Christmas with my family was really special. I also got to spend the New Year in Edinburgh, Scotland, which is one of the most iconic places in the UK to see in the New Year.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I really enjoy cooking and being experimental in the kitchen. Sometimes these experiments are successful, and other times not so much … there was a chicken vindaloo incident which I’d prefer to forget.
What is your favourite thing about being involved in SMSFs audit?
I really enjoy being a part of a growing team, and doing what I can to assist our team and clients. I love how no two days are the same – my role in the SMSFs audit team is as varied as it gets, and I love it!
What is your favourite food?
I really love chilli and prawn pizza. Before moving to Australia I didn’t eat much seafood, but I feel this pizza combination is practically perfect in every way. I also put chilli flakes in almost everything.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
I have been fortunate to see so many fantastic locations and last year I travelled to so many places. From 2015 my favourite holiday destinations were Hawaii, Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef and Magnetic Island, as well as Ireland/Scotland as mentioned above.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I see myself still living in Australia – I want to apply for my citizenship later this year. Also possibly a winner of My Kitchen Rules if my kitchen experiments become more successful.
Thank you Shauna – always good to hear from you!
